What makes a piece women's streetwear?

Women's streetwear lives on contrast: something baggy against something fitted, one loud piece surrounded by quiet ones. That is the filter for everything here, from baby tees to wide-leg denim, so you are choosing between pieces that already work together instead of hunting through a full catalog.

Start where the silhouette is decided, with trousers and footwear, then set the top half with t-shirts. The thinking behind those pairings, from proportion rules to the pieces worth buying first, is laid out in our women's streetwear guide.
