I spent four years cataloguing a vintage workwear archive in Shimokitazawa. I went there for a magazine job and stayed because the archive was bigger than the magazine ever needed. I keep a list of which Kojima mill is still weaving twelve-ounce selvedge and which one closed last year. I think the most interesting thing about a piece of clothing is usually the part nobody is talking about.
